The Four Best Wireless Headphones for Travel

You’re travelling, and it’s going to be a long trip. You want to listen to your favourite music and you want the best wireless headphones for travel.

You need something that is compact and lightweight so you can carry it easily, but you don’t want to compromise on sound quality or the ability of the headphones to isolate noise for noise cancelling.

Also, you want to have a choice of over-ear, on-ear or in-ear so you can have what is most comfortable for you.

We have looked at different headphones, and here are the four best wireless and Bluetooth headphones for travel:

1. Sony WH-1000XM3

The whole Sony 1000X series are favourites thanks to their superior technology that makes for great detailed sound, and the noise cancelling algorithms that keep outside noise outside.

They are comfortable, with thick cushioned earpads that completely cover the ears.

In addition, there are intuitive and handy features like Quick Attention mode, that allows noise in when it is necessary, like when you are on a flight and the flight attendant is asking you what drink you want. An Atmospheric Pressure Optimiser feature optimises the noise cancelling abilities of the headphones when flying.

2. Bose QuietComfort 35 II

Bose headphones have earned a reputation for great noise cancellation, excellent sound quality and comfort, and these headphones deliver. These over-ear headphones give you even more. They have been updated with Google Assistant.

Another bonus? They are well built, easy to use, and their battery life can last through any flight, except those that are over 20 hours.

3. AKG N60NC Wireless

These are great headphones for those who are more budget conscious. They give quality sound for the money and sound more expensive than they are. If noise cancelling and Bluetooth are used together, the battery life is 15 hours, but if the noise cancelling is turned off, it can go up to 30 hours. These amazingly compact on-ear headphones fit well, but can become uncomfortable if worn for a longer period of time. They are well designed and look good, too.

4. Jabra Elite Active 65t

Jabra may just give Apple AirPods a run for their money. These in-ear headphones can be easily carried around in your pocket, making them ideal for travel. They are truly wireless, yet offer customizable sound. They may not be noise cancelling, but they do offer good passive isolation by fitting snugly and securely in the ears and blocking out noise, as well as having minimal leaking of sound so that you can play your music at high volume without disturbing people around you.

They have a five hour battery life, 15 hours with two additional charges stored in their compact case.

Their sound is excellent and they have reliable performance, but as with all in-ear headphones, they can be uncomfortable if worn for long periods of time.

Choosing the right wireless headphones for travel is important. You want to be comfortable and entertained, so be sure to take time to decide what features are best for you!
